I just posted our family's menu for May here on the site. I'd love to hear if this spurs ideas for you and your family. How do you plan your meals? You might just give me some great ideas.

Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles; lest the Lord see it, and it displease Him, and He turn away His wrath from him. Do not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of the wicked; for there will be no prospect for the evil man; the lamp of the wicked will be put out... When we've been done wrong by someone, it's really hard not to harbor bitterness towards them, especially when they make no effort to reconcile or repent. It's easy for us to wish or even pray for God's wrath upon them. Then it really gets under our skin when everything seems to be going their way and they are prospering.
I've been trying to read a chapter in Proverbs each day this month and was doing some catching up this morning. These verses really struck me because we always think of the Old Testament as being an "eye for an eye." I think we sometimes misunderstand this; even in these old testament verses, we are encouraged to not repay our neighbor for what he has done. We shouldn't be happy when our enemies stumble - God will even hold back His wrath from them based on our such attitude! Neither should we be envious when they prosper. God will take care of each person, and that includes us! So, what I came away with today's reading was: Hate the sin... Love the person... And leave the results up to God! I got a chance to add some recipes here on my site for main dishes and side dishes. Check them out under the "Cooking Tab" and click on "Recipes," or you may click on the picture to the left.
Also, now there's a place for comments under each recipe, so if you try one, I'd love to know what you think. |
